The first of my haul from ConteXXt. In many ways, this is primarily a crime novel, though it is set mainly in a near-future, near-police-state, post-info-apocalypse London constantly monitored by an advanced CCTV network. An embittered cop gets involved in a murder enquiry, and treads on a few toes along the way. The computer tech is handled well, which doesn't really surprise me, given my knowledge of McAuley's background, and the legal reaction to that tech is pretty dystopian, though also worryingly plausible. It had me gripped pretty much from start to finish.
