Life, don't talk to me about life

I wanted some popcorn. I discovered our popcorn machine is broken, and produces only smoke and distressing mechanical grinding noises.

So I made some popcorn the old-fashioned way. It didn't go well. I just about managed to avoid setting fire to anything, though I did manage to scorch the worktop and generate yet more smoke in the kitchen.

Bah.

Someone keeps nuking Cowboy Feng's. The regulars are not amused and set out to find out what's going on. It's a rather oddball book, but fun.

The Wee Free Men, Terry Pratchett

Junior-witch-HOWTO, as Pratchett tells of a girl trying to rescue her younger brother from the queen of the fairies, with the help of the Nac Mac Feegle. Pretty typical Pterry-for-kids (which is a Good Thing)

Donnie Darko

Dark, disturbing, subversive and outright wierd at several points; also rather good. I reckon it's Pleasantville's evil twin.
