UFO Aftermath is just as addictive, just as time-consuming, and just as difficult as the game it was inspired by (X-Com: UFO Defence, AKA UFO: Enemy Unknown)

More detailed comments may be forthcoming once I stop playing it quite so much.

[or, a post to note that I'm not spending my entire life defending the Earth from dastardly alien Invaders]

Well, the kitchen walls are painted. Now we've just got to put the kitchen back together again.

...going to a meeting with representatives of one of the UK's largest banks (they want a new version of the bit of their site that sells insurance) and discovering that they are far less organised than we are.

Their delegation consists of four separate groups of people, who obviously haven't talked to each other beforehand. For bonus points, as I explain to them some of the problems with their proposed redesign, I rarely need to explain what I'm getting at, as three of these groups are independently fully aware of at least one issue each - I just lob an item up, and watch them tear each others' arguments to pieces.

I shouldn't be so cruel really. The redesign had several good ideas (only a couple of which were seriously misguided) and their requirements generally displayed quite advanced levels of clue under the circumstances. Most of them were very competent people, albeit only in their own specialist fields, and I just happen to be a professional specialist in the intersection between them.

Still, it means we get to make money showing them how to do it, and giggle at a large corporation in the process.
