So cyberwar is dead, is it?

You could be forgiven for thinking that, given the flurry of news stories saying to in the last week, but Al-Jazeera's english-language website was apparently hit by a Denial-Of-Service attack within hours of going live.

Now it looks like their arabic site has dropped off the net, too. It was there two days ago.

[edit: 48 hours later, the arabic site is back. The "English" URL serves the same Arabic page]

[Edit: another 24 hours, and it looks like they're down again...]

Co-incidentally, I was wondering if there were any english-language news sites of arab origin this morning. I really need to see some different perspectives.

A quick skim of google news gives gulf news and Arab news.

A good dig around in there will turn up source from all over the show (I also saw sources from Pakistan, Cuba, Czech Republic, Wales, Israel, Australia and Canada, plus a whole bunch of others)

Good grief, the standard of anonymous cowards is going down. This one's not even making sense.
