X-prize
At last, a non-vapourware contender for the X-prize. Not only is it already built, but parts of the system are undergoing flight testing, and it was built by someone who knows what he's doing (Burt Rutan's aircraft already hold a world record or two).
And it's a PLANE. An honest-to-ghod two-stage-to-sub-orbital, air-launched, SPACEPLANE, dammit. Like many Rutan designs, it looks like nothing else on Earth.
