Working in Internet-related computer software, I frequently encounter people who think they're God's gift to the IT industry, but who spend most of their time talking utter bollocks and demonstrating that they obviously gained their "knowledge" in a two-hour skim of the web. I suspect that experienced professionals in many skilled jobs encounter the same phenomenon on a fairly regular basis.

Which is why I enjoyed reading this post by Teresa Nielsen Hayden in which she lovingly dissects a website by a bunch of idiots trying to pretend they know about publishing.
