I interrupt this long-term inspiration-deficit-cum-apathy-attack to point you in the direction of a most excellent guide to browser support for CSS3 selectors. In short: support is generally poor, but not as bad as you might think. However, since it almost all degrades gracefully in most browsers¹, there's no reason not to think about using them immediately.

¹Usual suspects excepted, naturally. <cough>Netscape 4</cough>
