Sounds as if the producers of the latter may have forgotten to remember that it wasn't Shakespeare
I've seen interviews with Ang Lee and he seems to have been really trying to make it into a work of real drama and meaning. I guess he didn't quite appreciate how hard it is to turn someone else's mythos around.
