In order to spare the non-techies amongst my readership from what they probably regard as mind-bending tedium, I have set up [livejournal.com profile] stats_weenie, which will now host the vast majority of my ramblings on web browser statistics and related subjects. Any of you that are interested in such things, please adjust subscriptions/friends lists accordingly.

Gav,

I'm looking for info about how to get stats for one's own LJ, but all I'm coming up with are your webpages in stats_weenie. Thus! Do you know of any way to insert, say, a sitemeter into a LJ?

Curiously + thanks a lot,

Ljova

Arg. I didn't quite mean to pollute search engines like that, but I can't really see any way to avoid it.

Anyhow. What immediately springs to mind is to use a custom style in the S1 style system. That way, you can hack any HTML you like into it (like wot I've done on my journal) and include a counter's web bug along the way.

It requires a paid account (not a problem for you, I see) and some degree of HTML skills (depends how much you want to alter the basic style from whatever basic template you use).

There may be other ways (I know very little about what paid accounts can do with S2 styles, for instance) but that's how I'd do it on mine.
