... and someone has admitted in public to having read fewer than me.

There's an active movement in my office advancing the theory that "Gav knows EVERYTHING", but you lot manage to keep my head from getting too inflated :)

sf & f books )

Hmm. I've been short of stuff to read recently, and there's at least a dozen books on that list that are in the house RIGHT NOW, that I keep thinking "I really want to read that someday..." about.

The end of the saga, or is it?

Well, according to my account page, Play.com have now refunded me. I'll stop being rude about them - after their first e-mail, they've been far more helpful than I expected, which is cool.

Now, the other bit of the saga: at the same time as the Placebo album, I ordered another CD. Which they delivered, and which I had no problems with. But then a second copy arrived shortly after the first one.

I've not bothered mentioning this before, since they were perfectly happy to accept the second one back (dispatching error, apparently) and confirm that I'd only been billed once. Except that they've refunded me for that one, too.

I think I need to go get a bank statement to work out WTF is going on here, but it looks possible that I'm ahead, somehow, at which point I start getting a guilt complex. But not much of one.

For those who are curious about how the Escher-style flowing-uphill water feature at the Chelsea Flower show works, Auntie Beeb has the answers. I had the gist of it sussed, but they had one or two extra details covered.

Still cool, though.
