Some of you have probably heard of this - a fan-produced free (as in beer) Babylon 5 fighter flight simulator game. So, what's it like?

Graphically, it's fantastic. Earth Alliance cruisers, Star Furies, jumpgates, the whole shebang, beautifully rendered.

The learning curve is pretty harsh, but that's to be expected in a game that aims to provide a newtonian physics model and cites I-War as an influence.

As a game it has a few minor problems. Many missions have long chunks of unskippable dialogue before things get going, which can get rather wearing the third time through. There are no difficulty settings (one of my pet hates about many games) nor does there appear to be any way to replay missions once they're completed.

Overall, though, it's damn impressive for an amateur effort, and should leave quite a few professionally-made games feeling pretty ashamed of themselves.
