Random Open-Source Cheerleading

Late on friday, hunting a really annoying bug, I had my first real cause to go browsing the source code of one of the third-party tools we're using in our present project.

On other recent projects, where browsing source code wasn't an option, we'd have spent several hours (at least) going round in circles to hunt down this sort of problem, but being able to get at the source saved me loads of time, by leading me directly to the conclusion that Velocity was working fine, and even dropping a large hint about what was wrong with MY code.

Oh, I saw the light some time ago. Even more astounding, my employers even cottoned on (after a fashion) about 2 years back. Like the title says, this is just random cheerleading. :)
